Where did it come from?

The term “Black Friday” dates back to the 1920s and there are several trains of thought.  Some think it referred to businesses coming out of the “red” and into the “black” as the Christmas shopping season began after Thanksgiving.  Others say it was how the police used to describe the Friday after Thanksgiving as the traffic congestion was so bad.  Perhaps it is a combination of many ideas but the Friday after Thanksgiving has been unofficially known as the start of the Christmas shopping season since 1924 when the modern Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade began.

The popularity of Black Friday grew in the US as retailers realised they could draw in their customers by offering exclusive pre-Christmas discounts.  There has been footage of people fighting over toys and televisions desperate to get a bargain.

In the UK Black Friday hasn’t really been much of a feature.  We have become familiar with it through online shopping on sites such as Amazon and now over the past few years we have seen the Black Friday theme pop up on our high street too.  Thankfully in UK we have managed to restrain ourselves from fighting over items in the shopping aisles.

The biggest excitement with Black Friday is that the retailers keep their discounts under wraps until the shops open their doors.  Will you be taking advantage of the Black Friday offer this year?  Electrical items are usually those with the biggest savings.  Maybe you are going to treat yourself to the latest panoramic screen television so that you can lie back of the sofa over the Christmas holidays and relax watching some films.  Or maybe you need a new fridge freezer or washing machine.

Imagine that you have dreamed of having your own area of peace and tranquillity in your garden.  A place you can go and relax and unwind and sink into the warm hydrotherapeutic water of a hot tub.  This need not be a dream anymore as we will be revealing our Black Friday discounts very soon.

It's hard to believe it has been 7 weeks since our back to school super September offer.  We are heading toweard the end of October, the clocks have changed and Halloween and bonfire night are looming.  So if you are thinking of purchasing a new hot tub we have some spooktacular and explosive deals for you to take advantage of.  Just imagine soaking in hte warm waters of your hot tub whilst wathcing the exploding colours of the fireworks overhead.

Spooktacular savings!

Over the years we have discoverd there are different kinds of hot tub owners.  There are those who use their tub all year round, perhaps to relieve the symptoms of arthritis or to help with insomnia.  Then we have those that only take a dip in the summer months and finally those who opt for a winter time soak.  Whatever your preference is we are here to help you prepare your hot tub for the coming season.

Preparing your hot tub for the winter months is important.  These are some of the things you need to consider:

  • What conditions is your hot tub cover in?  Have you noticed that your cover has become heavier than it used to be?  Are the security clips still intact?  If your cover is heavy it may have begun to take in water.  Not only does this make it more difficult to get on and of your spa it also reduces the insulating properties.  You could be loosing exvessive heat from the water and subsequently using more energy to maintain the warm bathing temperature.  If you have a cover lifter fitted the extra weight could be putting a strain on the lifting arms.  During the winter months we often experience higher winds so it is important to ensure that your cover security clips are in place.  You don't want to wake up one morning to find your hot tub cover has blown off and is not settled at the bottom of your garden!  If your hot tub is in a more exposed area you may want to consider extra security starps to keep it in place.Checking your hot tub cover
  • Are you planning on using your hot tub during the winter months?  If not you would be wise to consider winterising it.  This will ensure that your hot tub has as little as possible residual water left in the pipes to freeze when the temperature drops.
  • For our winter bathers whose hot tubs have been out of action during the summer months a service could be in order to ensure everything is running as economically as it should be.
  • It is important to check that your hot tub is running and up to temperature throughout the week.  Power cuts can switch your hot tub off, if left without power the temperature will fall and the filtration system won't be running.  Imagine the disappointment when you nip out for a dip on a clear and starry night to find your water is cold and cloudy.  Not only that your hot tub will be vulnerable to freezing if Jack Frost makes an appearance.
Whatever your hot tub plans are for the winter we are here to provide you with any advice or help you may need. Just give us a call or pop into our showroom for a chat.

The holiday season is just about over and the kids have gone back to school, some may have even moved out and be settling into the university life.  This time of year usually indicates a drop in temperature, nights drawing in and a sign that autumn is on its way causing us all to retreat indoors.  Before we all start to despair though; our trusty weather experts have been predicting warm and dry weather from now through into October.  Let’s enjoy our gardens and continue spending time together outside while it lasts.

Have you considered the benefits of having a hot tub in your garden?  Although hot tubs don’t provide a cure for our ailments other than warming us through to our toes on a cold day or night; the warm waters and massage techniques have been shown to alleviate the symptoms of stress, arthritis and aching muscles.  If you are a sufferer of insomnia the use of a hot tub can aid the body with the production of endorphins boosting the immune system, easing pain and stress by helping us banish negative thoughts and feelings.  If you would like to know more of the health benefits please click here.

Hot Tubs Help Insomnia

The health benefits are great but let’s not forget about the social benefits of having a hot tub.  Instead of sitting down in front of the television or getting the games console out you could have some family time with the kids; a little romantic time with your significant other; a night in with the girls or perhaps just some quiet time on your own.  However you choose to use your hot tub you know you are going to feel great after your soak.

Family Time in a Hot Tub

Here at Alfresco Life we ensure that owning a hot tub is a relaxing experience right from your initial look at the models in our showroom through to the installation in your garden.  We provide you with the necessary training and leave you with your hot tub filled and ready for you to use allowing you to relax and enjoy.

We have hand-picked a selection of models from our 680, 780 and 880 series of spas for our Back to School Super September promotion.  The package includes the hot tub with Super September discount, thermal insulating cover, entry steps, standard installation, chemical starter pack, full chemical and hot tub training and access to our aftercare helpline.

Spas and hydrotherapy have been in existence for thousands of years, when the ancient Greeks and Egyptians used to add hot rocks to pools of water to enjoy the soothing benefits of warm water.

Then in the 1900s the Jacuzzi brothers, originally from Italy, travelled to California, America.  They were a family of inventors and made big strides in aviation inventing the first enclosed cabin monoplane.  The invention of a hydrotherapy pump, to treat the symptoms of arthritis, came in the 1950s.  Then in 1968, a third generation family member, Roy Jacuzzi invented the first self-contained and fully intergrated whirlpool bath with water jets.  People quickly realised that baths were not only relaxing, but therapeutic and pleasurable also and the hot tub market was born.

It wasn't long until the first Sundance Spas hydrotherapy system was arrived with the Aquajet in 1979.  It doesn't look quite like the models available today, but there was the same focus on effective hyrdotherapy with targeted adjustable jets designed to rehabilitate damaged tissues and promote relaxation.

Since the 1990s, the hot tub has become increasingly popular in Cheshire and throughout the UK and according to the British and Irish Spa and Hot Tub Association sales have risen gradually every year, with last year's cold weather only helping to boost the number of hot tubs sold.

A recent report from Lloyds Banking Group* found that one in ten households now have a hot tub in their back garden, as Bristish homeowners invest more money in their outdoor spaces.

It seems appropriate then, that ITV has commissioned a documentary about Britain's obsession with hot tubs. Shiver Productions, the factual programming division of ITV studios UK, will be following hot tub enthusiasts for an hour long documentary entitled "Hot Tub Britian."  The episode is scheduled to air in 2014.

Nights are closing in, winter is on the horizon, and you're ready to pick out your brand new hot tub so that you can continue enjoying your garden during the colder months.  Hot tubs are a great way to relax, but they can also provide health benefits.  Incorporationg hydrotherapy into your lifestyle can improve circulation and help with relieving stress.

Selecting a hot tub can be overwhelming as there are many models and features to choose from.  So, we've pulled together some top tips to help you find the best tub to complete your Cheshire home.

Budget

Hot tubs come in a range of prices to suit all budgets, from basic models to feature loaded models.  As with any purchase it's important to browse all available options and decide on your essentials and non-essentials before hitting the sales floors.  If you're simply looking for hydrotherapy, basic models may be sufficient. However, if you are keen to enjoy a full multi-sensory experience with all the "bells and whistles" then set your budget accordingly to allow for this.

Size

Fancy a snuggly tub for two?  Or are you looking for something family sized to fit the kids and your visiting parents? A smaller tub may be easier to maintain, but if you're planning to grow your family of want to have enough room for friends, then consider a tub that will cater to your future plans.  Remember a larger spa doesn't always mean a more expensive spa.  Alfresco Life in Cheshire do large and small spas in all three ranges so there is something to suit most budgets.

Type

Today's hot tubs come in all shapes and sizes.  Your starting point is either in-ground or above-ground. Once you have decided on that, then you can consider circular or rectangular; square or triangular.  Also consider the shape and size of your garden to see what will work best.

Comfort

Jet power is important, however it is a misconception that the more jets you have the better the hot tub; placement and functionality of the jets is what counts.  Check how the jets feel and their adjustability to find out what sort of water pressure is comfortable for you.  Are you sitting comfortably?  Alfresco Life supply spas that are designed using ergonomics of body support to ensure correct body posture whilst using the spa.

Efficiency

Look for a spa that is built with components that maintain thermal energy whilst keeping the water cleaner for longer.  Is the spa full foam insulated?  Does the heater stay on when the pumps are running?  Is the shell heat retentive?  Efficient plumbing, quality jets and optimum flow together make a cost effective system that provides a perfect hydrotherapy experience.

Maintenance

Hot tubs need to be looked after to ensure optimal performance.  There is an element of maintenace required all year round.  Talk through the routine upkeep with your sales advisor to ensure you don't have any surprises once your new hot tub is installed.

You've had a few weeks to enjoy the relaxation and hydrotherapy of your new Cheshire hot tub.  Why not invite some friends around to share the Sundance Spas experience.  But before you do, agree some house rules so that everyone is familiar with the correct etiquette.

  • Attiire - hot tub attire should be a swimming costume or bikini for the girls and ladies and swimming shorts or trunls for the gents.  Ask everyone to give their swimwear a rinse in clean non soapy water to make sure any soap residue is removed.
  • Towels - ask your guests to bring their own towels or robes to avoid a mountain of laundry when everyone has gone home.
  • Photography - not everyone is comfortable with having their picture taken in swimwear to be uploaded onto a social media website.
  • Seats - different seats within the hot tub offer different kinds of therapy.  Use a timer to make sure everyone has a chance to appreciate the full benefits of the luxury Cheshire hot tub.
  • Food and Drink - are you going to allow your guests to eat and drink in your spa?  Drinking plently of fresh water is a must to avoid dehydration but alcohol should be drunk with caution whilst having a soak in your hot tub.  Nibbles and drinks are of course perfect for the Apres soak.
A few house rules laid down at the beginning of the party will ensure everyone has a great time.

So your brand new hot tub has been installed in your Cheshire garden and you are ready to go.  The only things that are missing ar the ultra-cool hot tub accessories.

The best thing about a Cheshire hot tub is relaxation, so you will need something to rest your head on.  Most hot tubs these days have nice soft vinyl cushions already in place but if not you will need a delux vinyl pillow for each seat instead.

Next is the state of the art sound system.  Most Sundance Spas models come complete with a built in radio, mp3 connections and ipod docking station.  The Bluewave Spa Stereo System allows you to connect wirelessly using bluetooth technology to your own sound system within your Cheshire home.

To compliment the music, you need some lights.  Our mood is susceptible to light and colour each colour in the spectrum can provide a different effect.  Our spas offer the alternative treatment of Chromatherapy.  Alternatively if you want to create more of a party atmosphere try the underwater light show or starship and turn your garden into an oasis of funk.

Feeling peckish?  There are a varietly of inflatable, floating and static drink and snack bars to hold everything you need. Ensure the champagne has been chilled for a few hours and remember to use non-breakable glassware to avoid any nasty accidents.

Finally, before you get into the warm and comforting water hang your towel and robe in a safe dry place.

Christmas is coming and so is the opportunity to get out into the garden and enjoy your hot tub.  At this time of year there is nothing better than the stark contrast of the cold winter air with the warm waters of your tub, and of course some liquid refreshment to make the experience all the more enjoyable.

The team here at Alfresco Life have come up with our favourite winter warmers to enjoy in your hot tub.

  • Mulled Wine - the rich, aromatic, warm wine is a favourite at Christmas time.  Enjoy it with a stick of cinnamon and a slice of sweet orange
  • Hot Chocolate - relive your childhood with a creamy hot chocolate with marshmallow.  If you're feeling a littel cheeky why not add a splash of Baileys.
  • Spiked Apple Punch - combine apple cider, apple juice, sugar and cinnamon to create a sweet and fragrant alcoholic beverage
  • Eggnog Latte - an American favourite that is becoming more popular in Cheshire and elsewhere in the UK
  • Hot Toddy - a good Irish Whiskey with brown sugar, lemon and cloves topped with hot water.  Some say it is the best fix for a cold
  • Winter Pimms - if you've got any left over from the summer, mix it with tree parts warm apple juice topped with your favourite fruit pieces
  • Cafe Barbados - fill a coffe glass with dark rum, coffe liquor and hot black coffee; top it with whipped cream and garnish with chocolate shavings for a little taste fo the Caribbean
When you have decided on your choice of drink there is only one thing left to do.  Sit back and relax in the warm hot tub water and watch the evening pass by, stopping only to refill your glass.
NB Drinking alcohol while bathing in your hot tub must be done with caution.

If past years are anything to go by, Hot tub owners in Cheshire and many other UK counties could be preparing themselves for another cold winter. You may decide to continue to use your hot tub during these winter months (and this is exactly what it's designed for) but if not, here's a handy guide to preparing your hot tub for the winter months ahead.

Also, here's a very quick word of warning. While a properly drained hut tub may save you money on energy costs and supplies for a few months, most hot tub damage in winter is caused by frost damage due to improper draining.

But, if the prospect of sitting in your lovely warm hot tub during those cold winter months isn't for you, here's how it's done:

  1. Flush your plumbing system using AquaSparkle Hot Tub Flush which you can buy from our shop here.
  2. Switch off the power. Sounds simple but it’s a common mistake. Make sure you disconnect from the mains before proceeding further.
  3. Next, drain the water by opening your drain valve or using a submersible pump. Our spas allow you to connect a hose pipe to flush the water down a drain. When the water level drops below the seats scoop the water from the seats into the footwell. When the water ceases to drop scoop as much of the remaining water from the footwell.
  4. Clean the shell of your hot tub using a non-foaming cleaner such as AquaSparkle Spa Surface Cleaner sold in our shop. Wipe down all your surfaces and rinse. This will make opening your spa in the spring a much nicer experience! Remove all remaining water from the footwell using a wet and dry vac.
  5. The air injector lines needs to be cleared of water. Switch the power on again, activate the air blower for 15-30 seconds.' Stand back to avoid the misty spray. When this is done, trip the GFCI again to switch the spa off.
  6. Remove the filters in your hot tub.' Whilst you have removed, it would be a good time to soak them in the filter cleaning solution you can buy online here. You should change your filters every year so if they need replacing, you can also order replacements here. Whilst you're on, remember to clean your filter compartments.
  7. Next up, remove the equipment side panels and locate the drain plugs on the pumps. Remove these plugs to allow all remaining water out of the pumps and heater. Approximately 5-10 litres of water will be released during this process. Use a wet-dry vac clean up the water and prevent the equipment bay from flooding. Replace the drain plugs.
  8. Loosen the hose clamp at the bottom of the heater and remove the hose from the heater. Twist the hose back and forth to allow any residual water to drain.
  9. To ensure that nothing cracks when the frost arrives, make sure you can loosen the fittings on your spa’s plumbing system so no water can collect.
  10. Replace the side panels
  11. It's essential that you don't forget to clean and replace your hot tub cover to prevent any rain water entering while not in use. If you live in a windy area, remember to secure your hot tub cover with straps and locks.
  12. If your hot tub has a wooden surround, now is the time to apply a coat of finish before it gets too cold and wet.

DO NOT use any anti-freeze type product in your hot tub during the winter months. This may cause damage to your spa and it will be difficult to remove any residue when spring comes around. Just follow our guide above.

Alternatively, if all this sounds like too much hard work, you can always give us a call or pop into our showroom in Cheshire and we'll be more than happy to help.

It is the 175th year of the Cheshire Show this year.  The Cheshire Agricultural Society (CAS) was inspired by Field Marshall Viscount Combermere who was one of the Duke of Wellington's generals at Waterloo.

The initial idea was to have a seres of competitions to encourage better farming methods with other competitions veing introduced for all family members.  Over time farmers and land owners outside the county also came to compet and that is how the Cheshire County Show came to be how it is today.  The competitions for farms, crops and livestock are basically the same today as they were 175yrs ago.  I don't think there is still a class for the famil raising the most children without seeking Parish Relief or a prize for the neatest and cleanest cottage but there are many classes suitable for entrants of all ages.

Every good show need spectators and the spectators need something to see and do.  As well as the many livestock and equestrian classes and a dog show; there is judging of locally produced wine and cheese and attractions such as a traditional fun fair, stunt motorcycles, bird of prey and cookery demonstrations.  But of course a day out at a county show wouldn't be complete without some retail therapy.

There will be an abundance of local businesses attending to showcase their products to you.  We will be showing a selection of our outdoor living products including hot tubs by Sundance Spas on stand C5-25.  This is our second year in attendance and we have some very special and exclusive Cheshire County Show offers for you over the two days as well as a free prize draw to win a £50.00 cash prize on each of the two days.

The map below shows you were we will be for the two days.  You can buy tickets online on the Cheshire County Show website.  If you need any further information about this please call 01625 423803.

It’s easy to feel glum in the wake of Christmas and New Year. Most of us are short of money, significantly heavier than we were before the holidays and already struggling with New Years resolutions. It’s difficult to motivate yourself to go for that run, hit the gym or even to step outside in the coldest month of the year. Netdoctor.co.uk is calling this ‘acute post-bank holiday depression syndrome’ which is caused by a number of factors including weather, debt, low motivational levels and time since Christmas. Recommended steps to take to battle this include trying something new, getting physical and looking after yourself.

Trying something new

If you’re reading this blog then you’ve either stumbled here by accident or you’re thinking about buying a hot tub. No matter how far along you are in the decision making process we can offer no-obligation advice to help you along with your decision. So, if you want to try something new, why not book a free, no-obligation wet test in one of our luxury garden hot tubs?

Getting physical

Sitting in a hot tub is no substitute for a session in a gym or a long run. However, hot tubs have been proven to improve circulation, lower blood pressure, relax the muscles, reduce fatigue and relieve pain. Given all of these benefits, we think sitting in your corner hot tub is the next best thing to physical exercise.

Looking after yourself

Although getting physical also constitutes looking after yourself, we can’t think of a better way to relax, relieve stress and look after your mind and body than having a soak in one of our hot tubs.  As well as the benefits listed above, hot tubs can draw contaminants out through the pores, relax mind and body and even alleviate SAD symptoms.

It’s important that you regularly clean your spa with the right hot tub chemicals to keep it clean and safe for you and your family. Using your hot tub regularly without the correct application of these chemicals and a working filtration system can lead to the spread of bacteria. Don’t worry though, this is easily prevented and easier than you think. If you look after the water in your luxury garden hot tub, your hot tub will look after you!

Hot tub filters and hot tub chemicals

All of our spas are fitted with a highly effective filtering system, so, by buying your garden hot tub from Sundance Spas, you ensure you always have clean and hygienic water.  Although most of the work is done by our hot tub filters, you will still need a sanitiser such as bromine as part of our hot tub chemicals range to kill any bacteria and oxidise any organic matter left by bathers.

Although our luxury garden hot tubs are usable all year round, you may decide during the cold winter months that you don’t want to use your hot tub. In this case, you will need to drain it and clean it and full winterize it.  This is a service that we provide to ensure that it is done fully and correctly.  Then you can pull across your Sundance Spas hot tub cover, keeping your tub clean, preserved and ready to be used again in the New Year.

In decades gone by, the UK’s most desirable household items have included microwaves, answer phones and fondue sets. Now a survey has revealed 2012’s most desirable household item is, in fact, a hot tub. Beating off the competition from walk-in wardrobes, 3D TVs and US-style fridges, the hot tub is the number one choice for UK householders.

This may well have something to do with the coverage they have had in the media recently. Whether considered to be a good thing or not, some of the cast of The Only Way is Essex were filmed in one Christmas special taking a dip in a snow-surrounded garden hot tub in Lapland. Though the programme itself has received what can only be described as a ‘Marmite’ response, the continued appearance of hot tubs in popular culture underpins the increasing popularity of luxury garden hot tubs.

While hot tubs seem an aspirational idea to many, they are surprisingly affordable.  By the very nature of being the most desirable item of 2012, it’s easy to think that a hot tub is way out of your price range. Here, at Sundance Spas, we offer a great range of luxury and garden hot tubs. If you wish to find out more then please contact us or request a brochure. Do you get the winter blues or find yourself lacking the energy for simple tasks as the nights close in? You may well be suffering from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), which is to do with the lack of natural light we subject ourselves to during the winter months. According to mind.org.uk, SAD can affect as many as a third of people in the UK.

During the months of December to February, more than 90% of us get up to go to work in the dark and return home after dark, and it’s far too easy to get into the routine of sitting inside and watching daytime television on those chilly winter weekends. However, it is proven that going outdoors and making the most of the natural light can significantly reduce SAD symptoms and ease stress at this hectic time of year. So why not make the most of the natural light in your free time by having a steamy soak in your very own luxury Sundance Spa garden hot tub? The hydrotherapeutic effects of our hot tubs will help to relax your muscles, decrease blood pressure and even lead to an improved night’s sleep.

Here at Sundance Spas we have a huge range of Jacuzzis and hot tubs that you can use all year round, ranging from our innovative and energy-efficient Select series to the luxurious 880 series hot tubs.

See the Sundance Spas website for our full range of hot tubs and hot tub accessories. Whether you’re looking for hot tub covers or hot tub filters, we can help. You will also be able to find out where our nearest hot tub suppliers are located.

A hot tub will help stimulate your body and mind so you’re ready to face the world again.  There are numerous health benefits associated with the healing power of water. In this blog post we’ve highlighted some of the main ailments that can be alleviated by taking an occasional dip into your hot tub.

Hot tubs can provide relief from stress

Everyone experiences stress at some point in their lives. Warm water immersion has been proven to reduce the hormones associated with stress.  Dipping into a hot tub will also help separate you from the cause of stress, which can further decrease anxiety.  A recent study also suggested that along with relaxation, bathing in a hot tub could have a positive effect on your memory and the performance of cognitive tasks, such as problem solving.

Hot tubs have healing benefits

A study at the Mayo Clinic found that soaking in a hot tub gives many of the health benefits associated with exercise but with less strain on the heart. A dip in hot water initially speeds up the heart to send blood to the surface and disperse extra body heat into the air. After a while, the warm blood causes the blood vessels to dilate. This lessens the resistance to blood flow and lowers blood pressure.

Hot tubs can help ease arthritis and joint pain

The buoyancy in hot tub water can reduce your body weight by 90% when submerged.  This helps reduce the pressure on your joints and muscles, allowing soothing exercises to be performed. The power produced by the jets within the hot tub also provides massaging qualities for your joints and areas of pain or discomfort.

The world of camping has changed dramatically over the last few years.  Canvas tents are now a thing of the past and it is all about the luxury camping or as it's commonly called 'glamping'.

This, for those of you who don't know, is staying in a tent permanently kitted out with Freeview TV and a DVD player, an iPod dock, bath robes and slippers; and all the little extras you'd expect to find in a five star hotel.  Forget the insects and leaky tents - these camping alternatives offer extravagance and chic comfort.

Hot tubs are increasing in popularity and recently holiday cabins, cottages and barns have started offering then as a stylish substitute for high maintenance campers.

After an exhausting day hiking around the coutryside, the ideal thing to do would be to have a long soak in the bath but usually it only results in sleeping on a hard, wet ground.  However, many camp sites are now extending their facilities and have hot tubs available.

Hot tubs are the ideal solution to relaxing and socialising and they are perfect to soak away your woes after a busy day making fires and participating in water sports like canoeing and white water rafting.

They come in a range of different designs, colours, jets and lighting; so next time you go camping, why not choose a luxurious accommodation that comes complete with hot tub facilities?  Chillout in a tub after strolling through the woodlands and make it a holiday to remember.  Your camping experience will never be the same again!

Who knows, you may love the experience so much that you decide to purchase a tub for your own home.  Sundance Spas offer everything you need to relax in the warm waters; check out our award winning range today.

Hot tubs are amongst the top itmes bought by winners of the National Lottery, according to research from organised Camelot.

Hot Tubs are the top purchased item, with 29% of lucky winners investing in the luxurious addition to thier homes.  The leading service was of course a cleaner, with 30% choosing to hang up their dusters in favour of hired help.

Other items in the list include home cinemas (10%), a games room (22%) and a walk-in wardrobe (28%).  Bizarrely the research revealed that while 22% of lotto winners owned dogs, only 4% had cats.

One big-spending winner even splashed out on a wishing well - no pun intended.

Hot tubs however, came out on top and with 16% choosing to spend their winnings on a gym this may have been for the health benefits as well as the luxury and relaxation offered.  Hydrotherapy has been proved to increase muscle recovery and the soothing ambience of the hot tub is a notorious stress-buster.

Hot tubs have also been shown to aid sleep by raising body temperature, which then drops once the lucky dipper gets out - maybe lotto winners have been lying awake wondering what to do with the winnings?

Alternatively the aches and pains from their new gyms may explain the urge to purchase a hot tub, as the massaging action of the jets not only helps with muscle pain but also eases discomfort in stiff joints.

Doctors often suggest hot tub therapy to help with a variety of health problems including diabetes. high blood pressure and chronic fatigue.  Physiotherapists encourage the use of hot tubs to allow light stretching of injured muscles while the jets work their magic on the affected areas.

Whilst not everyone can have a bank balance as healthy as a lottery winner, why not invest in a hot tub and improve the health of your muscles and joints?  If you are interested in receiving further information, contact us today.
